Itinerary

Day 1 | Travel / Mackenzie Falls

Today we have an early departure (6.30am) from Adelaide CBD where we take the freeway out past Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend. We will have lunch enroute, with stops for coffee and comfort along the way. Alternatively, you can choose to make your own way to Halls Gap and we will meet you there.

Upon arriving we journey up to Mackenzie Falls. Without a doubt one of the most popular locations in the Grampians National Park, Mackenzie Falls is home to a stunning cascading waterfall with plenty of photo opportunities. Be sure to bring your smartphone or DSLR for this!

Along our walking trail today is also Fish Falls. A quiet little spot which is perfect for relaxing on a rock while listening to the sounds of rushing water. It is just over an hours walk between both falls.

We will then settle in to our accommodation before dinner.

Meals Included: Lunch, Trail Snacks, 2 Course Dinner
Walking Distance: 4km

Day 2 | Mount Rosea

After breakfast, we visit the Brambuk Cultural Centre to learn about this land, named Gariwerd by the First Nations People. Then with lunch packed we begin our most challenging hike, over Mount Rosea to Borough Huts.

Today’s hike is rated moderate-hard with some more technical sections and will take us around 5 to 6 hours to complete. A very picturesque one-way trail, it has a perfect mix of bushland, rocky climbs, narrow corridors, and incredible views as we make our way to the summit. Remember to turn around and look back at your surroundings along the way – it is absolutely worth it! We will enjoy a picnic lunch along the way.

On our way to our accommodation in the afternoon, we pass through Halls gap main street with the chance to grab an ice-cream or any treat to celebrate.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Trail Snacks, 2 Course Dinner
Walking Distance: 13km

Day 3 | Venus Baths / Pinnacle / Sundial

Today is a flexible walking day. So if you’re feeling a little tired there’s a chance to sleep in or return to the accommodation for a rest.

The full trail today links our accommodation to yesterdays starting point for Mount Rosea. A one-way walk that we break up into stages, each with spectacular landscapes and features. You have the choice to walk 1, 2 or all 3 stages.

Venus Baths, Splitters Falls, Grand Canyon, The Pinnacle, and Lakeview Lookout are some of the highlights of the Grampians. We venture to all of these today.

Returning mid afternoon to rest at our accommodation before dinner.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Trail Snacks, 2 Course Dinner
Walking Distance: 5km, 10km or 12km

Day 4 | Chatauqua Peak / Travel

Sadly our time walking in the Grampians will end today but not before one last hike to Chatauqua Peak to watch the sun rise. This trail has some steep sections and a rocky scramble to the very top but the views are sensational even lower down. This walk will take around 2 hours to complete.

After checkout we depart for Adelaide, stopping for lunch and comfort along the way. We will arrive back to the CBD by around 5pm. Please do not book flights for this evening. Alternatively, you can choose to stay longer or travel separately to an onward destination today.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Trail Snacks
Walking Distance: 6km
