An opportunity to accompany your daughter (or granddaughter / niece) on a micro-adventure in one of our stunning locations.
Take the time to share the challenge and fun, and help your daughter appreciate her strength, resilience and personal capability. These events are aimed for Tweens (girls aged 10-13.).
With our incredible team leaders these overnight micro adventures encourages outdoor skills and knowledge building whilst hiking the stunning trails in and around your camp location.
Our Strong Daughters and their Mums, need to be prepared to walk 12km over two days, along undulating forest tracks, carrying all their personal belongings in a backpack. Each trip will vary in distance and level of difficulty so you can choose the one that suits you best.
(As a weight guide – Adult packs should be a maximum 12kg, and Child packs should be no more than a ¼ of their total body weight)
We supply most gear (backpacks, stove and fuel, sleeping roll, sleeping bag, tent, food) you will need rain proof clothing and warm layers and/or sun protective gear depending on the weather forecast.
Part proceeds from this tour will support Essentials 4 Women SA.
For disadvantaged women, Essentials 4 Women SA aim to provide the basic, but costly, items for feminine hygiene including sanitary products and underwear.
Their passion for helping women promises to help empower and enhance the wellbeing and dignity for some of the most vulnerable people in our community.

This is a moderate walk. A good to very good level of fitness is required.

Lisa is the founder of Big Heart Adventures and brings an extensive portfolio of personal adventure travel as well as boundless enthusiasm & proven expertise in travel planning.
Lisa’s attention to detail and passion for curating unique experiences has allowed her to plan travel, adventures & holidays for an extensive demographic of clients over many years.
An experienced adventure traveller, having completed expeditions including the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea, Inca Trail in Peru, Mt Kinabalu in Sabah, Overland Track in Tasmania, Milford and Routeburn Tracks in New Zealand to name a few, Lisa knows first-hand the challenges and amazing reward that exploring the outdoors adds to your life.
While I grew up by the Cleveland Hills in North Yorkshire, walking, riding and exploring, life put other concerns in my way, and I forgot what it was to be adventurous. A few challenges to ‘normal’ forced me to re-evaluate my direction, and in my forties, my mid-life adventures began. I haven’t climbed Everest or swum the Nile, but I have loved finding out just what I can do. I try not to set limits on myself, and I allow myself to fail but only if I ‘give it a go’ first.
From that first ‘crazy’ poorly prepared hike, to a fully qualified bushwalking leader, I have had opportunities to explore our South Australian backyard, seeing wonderful areas that many South Australians may not even be aware of. Outside of SA, my hiking adventures have taken me exploring in Victoria, Tasmania and most recently New Zealand with my daughter Ella.
I am passionate about sharing possibilities with others, and helping them to discover their own strength and capabilities through hiking. I recognise that everyone may be at different stages of confidence, and am always excited to see people connecting with the natural spaces around them. Adventuring at any level, and appreciating each environmental wonder is for all of us, and I feel it a privilege to be part of each individual’s journey.
There’s nothing Briony likes more than a good long walk.
She’s done solo multi-day hikes through Tassie, Patagonia, and of course, SA.
Previously a land surveyor, she’s also taught introductory mapping at university for four years. She’s passionate about hiking and the environment and loves to share her experiences and knowledge with others.
