Fitness Requirement
- A good level of fitness is required to walk on the trails on this trip.
- We will be walking with a 50 litre pack (supplied) carrying up to 8kg.
- You should be able to walk on a variety of surfaces: steep trails, rocky headlands, uneven terrain and soft sand.
- Our longest walking day is 17km (shorter option available) and we walk 4 consecutive days on this adventure.

Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrive Hobart
Arrive into Hobart today at anytime. We will have a briefing at our hotel at 6pm with details on our pick up time and walk notes for the following day. Join us for a welcome dinner this evening at a nearby local eatery.
Day 2 | Maria Island (8km)
Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Trail Snacks, Dinner with Wine
Distance: 8km
Day 3 | Maria Island (13km)
Imagine sunrise amongst the forest trees this morning as your day in nature begins. After a hearty breakfast, today we walk along five stunning beaches. Be on the lookout for dolphins, sea birds and marine life at the shore. Tonight’s glamp site at White Gums camp will be reached in time for a relaxing afternoon swim and candlelit gourmet dinner with wine.

Day 4 | Maria Island (9-17km)
Today is your chance to take on the challenge of climbing the peak of Mt Maria or Bishop and Clerk. These walks will take you inland and to the heart of the island via divine green forests. It’s a 700 metres climb through rare “cloud” rain forests and with views that make the climb worth every step. Our final night on the island allows us to stay in beautiful Bernacci House in World Heritage Listed settlement of Darlington. A delicious banquet awaits with wine and wonderful company.

Day 5 | Maria Island (4km)
The final day begins with a delicious breakfast followed by a walk around the northern tip of Maria Island. The walk takes you through a variety of spectacular woodlands and forests with rare endemic birds, wallabies and wombats on show. You continue on to the dramatic sea cliffs of Fossil Bay and then head down to the remarkable fossils at Fossil Cliffs. Arriving back at Darlington we enjoy a celebratory farewell lunch before boarding the boat to go back to the mainland Tasmania and Hobart taking with you incredible memories and stories of an amazing four days, walking in Tasmania, spent in a very special place.

Day 6 | Hobart
Our women’s walking tour on Maria Island concludes after breakfast today. You can extend your stay in Tasmania or we can assist you with a transfer to the airport.

- Clothing suitable for bushwalking that is quick drying, warm layers if chilly – consider merino/synthetic clothing
