Join us on a gorgeous Grampians Wise Women Walking Trip in stunning Gariwerd Country.

Find Yourself Be Yourself Challenge Yourself with this 6 day adventure.

Walking pack-free (day pack only) on moderate trails each day completing sections of the Grampians Peaks Trail with incredible views, waterfalls and rocky escarpments. Return to comfortable accommodation each night with relaxation and freshly cooked meals.

Professionally led by our qualified and experienced female bushwalking leaders – ladies, it’s time to walk the Peaks with us!

Itinerary

Day 1 | Depart Adelaide / Grampians Peaks Trail

We have an early departure (6.30am) from Adelaide CBD where we take the freeway out past Murray Bridge and Tailem Bend. We will have lunch enroute (included) with stops for coffee, and comfort along the way.

Excitement builds as we get closer to the Grampians and the horizon changes and the distant rises grow in size.

Our walk today includes the lower waterfalls of Gar near Mt Difficult.  This trail will take us a couple of hours to cover as we hike over rocky terrain and crossing creeks to the waterfalls.  A spectacular introduction to our Grampians Peaks Trail adventure.

We will then drive to Halls Gap check in to our comfortable accommodation and enjoy dinner together.

Day 2 | Grampians Peaks Trail

After a hearty breakfast, we will pack our lunch and head to Werdug.

Ready for our next section of the Grampians Peaks Trail from Werdug to Halls Gap.

We weave through rocky outcrops today and enjoy the lookout at Lake Wartook before heading to Chataqua Peak and straight to our accommodation on foot in Halls Gap.

Day 3 | Grampians Peaks Trail

We depart from our accommodation on foot after a big breakfast.

We enjoy freshly packed lunches along the way today with great views to be had from the Pinnacle Lookout – one of the many highlights of the Grampians.

Our hike includes visiting the scenic Venus Baths, passing Elephants Hide and weaving up through the Grand Canyon and Silent Street. We finish our days hike at Bugiga, rewarded with some afternoon time to enjoy the cosy spaces at our accommodation in front of the wood fire before a delicious 2 course dinner this evening.

Day 4 | Grampians Peaks Trail

Our adventure continues today as we return to Bugiga for a challenging 14km section to Barri Yalug.

This is definitely a fave section as we reach the summit of Mt Rosea passing through rocky chambers and passages with views of the ranges both sides at different times along the way. The trail winds down through stunning forest (look out for fungi) and past Borough Huts to our finish spot.

Day 5 | Grampians Peaks Trail

Our most challenging section of hiking is today as we summit Mt William the highest peak in the Park.

This will include plenty of ascending to Boundary Gap plus crossing the Major Mitchell Plateau. A rewarding and challenging hike awaits!

We return to our accommodation to rest and celebrate completing a highlights package of the Grampians Peaks Trail.

Day 6 | Grampians Peaks Trail / Drive to Adelaide

Sadly our time walking in the Grampians will end today but not before one last hike.

Choose from Boronia Peak (sunrise hike 3 hours return, moderate – 360 degree views) or sleep in and enjoy a short walk to Beehive Falls (90 mins return). One final moment to connect with the beauty of Gariwerd on our way back to Adelaide.

We enjoy a country bakery stop for lunch and comfort stops as needed along the way. We should arrive back to the Adelaide CBD by 6pm. Please do not book flights for this evening.

Packing List

  • Rainproof jacket and pants
  • Daypack (35 litre approx.)
  • Water bottles/hydration kit (min 3Ltrs)
  • Personal medications
  • Clothing suitable for bushwalking that is quick drying, warm layers if chilly – consider merino/synthetic clothing
  • Sun protection such as hat, sunglasses and suncream, insect repellent (if joining us in warmer months consider a head net for the flies)
  • Sleeping attire
  • Sleeping gear (pillow, sleeping bag and sheet, or blankets/quilt)
  • Walking poles (optional and recommended) – we can assist with hiring if needed

Fitness Requirement

  • A very good level of fitness is required to walk the trails on this trip
  • You will be walking pack free (day packs only)
  • You will walk on a variety of surfaces including some rock scrambling, steep sections and loose ground
  • You may also walk on trails that hug cliff tops or cross creeks
  • Our longest walking day is 16km and we walk 6 consecutive days on this trip
  • We recommend you do hilly walks before this trip to maximise your enjoyment of the climbs and views
  • Trail rating: Moderate-hard

Adventure Leaders

Our team is qualified, experienced and super friendly. We will ensure you have a fun and connecting adventure. Leaders are certified in Remote or Wilderness First-Aid. All leaders carry a group first-aid kit, emergency communications device, emergency documentation and equipment.
