Weekend Walks for Women: Afternoon Wine Shanty Trail

In August we will take on the Wine Shanty Track starting from Cleland Wildlife Centre Car Park.
We park and meet near the public toilets in the centre of the car park.
THIS IS A 3-4 HOUR WALK with some challenging sections of steep incline and decline – walking poles are recommended for the slippery bits. Distance is about 10km.

Please note we do require you to have some compulsory gear for this walk if the weather prediction is wet. If you do not have waterproof jacket and pants we may not allow you to participate. We also cannot refund your ticket if you do not have the required gear. Please ensure you have this gear before you commit to our walk.
The following items will be needed:
– a daypack (35 litre) backpack
– 1-2 litres of water
– sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream) or wet weather gear (we will check the forecast and remind you all what to expect!
– note some weather forecasts will mean a WATERPROOF JACKET AND PANTS REQUIRED in order to join us please ensure you have this gear before committing to our walk
– blister kit/personal meds
– high energy snack/fruit
– boots/comfortable walking shoes
– warm clothing for after the walk (jumper/jacket)
– walking poles (optional but recommended)
– gold coin donation (or product donation of feminine hygiene items) for Essentials 4 Women SA supporting disadvantaged women in SA with essential lady gear!
Our walks are all about fun, fitness and friendship – not a personal training session. If we can’t walk and talk at the same time we are walking too fast!
We encourage you all to walk with different people throughout the walk and with varying paces in any group, we re-group regularly so no-one is left behind.
Please note this walk will be approx 3-4 hours.
We will regroup for coffee/refreshments at the Cleland Park Cafe (if still open) after our walk, noting that the car park closes at 5pm.

If the weather forecast is for extreme weather, thunderstorms or a fire ban is issued for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Please park in the Cleland carpark by the public toilets in the centre of the car park (public transport is available from the city – check timetables)

What’s the refund policy?
Your ticket cost is non-refundable if cancelling less than 7 days before the walk commences. If we cancel the walk due to extreme weather or other reasons beyond our control, we will refund you.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Minimum age requirement is 15 years old as long as an accompanying adult is coming – please check with Lisa if unsure.
